Warm & Cosy

Winter is absolutely beautiful. I come from a country where winter is mostly just rain, without any changes with the temperature. While in Europe when winter has finally arrived, it brings along the cold, wet and dark mood along with it. So I understand why some southeast Asians prefer to stay inside the whole time. It is cold but there are so many that winter has to offer.

Snow, in particular, is just wonderful. Unfortunately, we only had one day of snow in 2018. And every bit of snow is like small little crystals, but soft and fluffy. Still, why not cheer the spirit up with something festive or fun this season. So here are some of my ways to stay warm and cosy this winter.

Dress smart when going outside

You need those thick sweaters and long-sleeved or heattech clothes. Wear a good pair of sock and don’t forget to bring gloves, just in case. Scarf to cover your neck and a comfy jacket or coat. It will be heavy but don’t ever underestimate the power of winter.

Let there be light

The night is long and the day is short and mostly gloomy. No wonder lights are everywhere by the streets during winter. So get those Christmas lights on! Let them twinkle and sparkle. Or burn some candles and play some music to make winter even warmer and cosy.

Sweet and sweeter

No season is complete without some sweet treats. Whether it’s just hot chocolate with(out) marshmallows or a whole cake, these delights will surely compensate for the cold winter outside. Do some baking or buy some from the store. Don't feel bad about the guilty pleasure, you deserve every bit of it.

Not Alone

Sometimes being alone is the best thing to do. But in this season try to spend time with your loved ones. Find a friend or some mates and do something fun together. Watch a movie, bake something together or find a community at church. Whatever it is, be sure to be happy and grateful.

Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year!
